Stuart Hetherington, President of the Comité Maritime International (CMI), has informed us of the recent death of Roger Gifford, one of the founders of the South African Maritime Law Association, who later served as its President for six years. He was a senior partner in the firm of Shepstone & Wylie, in a maritime law career stretching back to 1951.
