The President of CMI has sent a letter (April 11, 2012) encouraging members to register now for the Beijing Conference and providing details of what will be addressed at the Conference. The letter can be viewed here.
The next CMI Conference will be held in Beijing, Peoples Republic of China, from 14 – 19 October 2012. Organisation of the event is now under way. The substantive programme will include panels on the Salvage Convention, 1989, and the Recognition of Judicial Sales of Ships as well as the Rotterdam Rules and other highly topical subjects. A tour of the Great Wall of China will be a highlight as well as many cultural tours for accompanying persons. The registration fee is expected to be in the range of EUR 800 – 900. Further, the Organising Committee of the China MLA has agreed to the CMI arranging educational and cultural events in Shanghai from 20 – 22 October 2012. This would be an optional add-on to the conference itself.

In order to assist the planning of the conference the CMI has requested that we advise of the approximate number of our members who think they might attend the Beijing conference and the Shanghai seminar (as well as "Accompanying Persons" and "Young Members" [up to 35 years old]). Accordingly, we request that anyone who thinks they may attend the Beijing Conference please fill in the form below. Please note that this is only to give CMI an approximation of the number of delegates. Individual names will not be given to CMI and there is no obligation to attend if you indicate you are planning to attend.
